Charles Donovan “Chuck” Howard, 83, of Washington, died Friday, September 14, 2007, in The Washington Hospital following a lingering illness.
He was born January 21, 1924, in Waynesburg, a son of Brutus “Boots” Howard and Bess Lightner Howard Kiger.
Mr. Howard graduated from Waynesburg High School and attended Waynesburg College for one year.
He worked as a union electrician for 51 years through the IBEW #5.
Mr. Howard was a former member of Washington Country Club, the Lions Club and the Arms Club. He bowled for the Ramada Inn team, and enjoyed his grandchildren, golf and his pipe.
On May 31, 1968, he married Nancy Carol Swart, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Patrick (Lynn) Howard of Canonsburg, Vincent (Lisa) Presto of Amity, and Erik F. Presto of Washington; three daughters, Linda Hammond of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Charissa (Randy) Markey of Washington, and Erin (Jeffrey) McClay of Washington; one sister, Billie Jean Knight of Weirton, West Virginia; ten grandchildren, Judy Stauduhar, Mark Hammond, Matthew Crow, Lia Howard, Connor Howard, Jeremy Markey, Logan Markey, Brandy Presto, Olivia McClay and Madeline McClay; and one great-grandchild, Alexander Hammond.
Deceased are a brother, Brutus “Boots” Howard, II; and a great-granddaughter, Kirstie Hammond.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or services.
