Neva Frances McAdoo Jones, 72, of West Alexander, died Friday, January 5, 2007, in her home.
She was born May 5, 1934, in Washington County, a daughter of Fred Carlyle and Lois Guy McAdoo.
A graduate of West Alexander High School, she also attended Stenotype Institute for two years.
Mrs. Jones was a secretary for GATX Corporation and had been a cashier at Exit 2 Truck Stop.
Mrs. Jones was a member of West Alexander Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed watching birds, collecting seashells, was an avid reader, and also enjoyed her grandchildren.
On June 23, 1956, she married William Rodgers Jones, who died August 23, 1975.
Surviving are three sons, Daniel Lee Jones, and the late Jessica Lynn, of West Alexander, William Patrick Jones, wife Penelope, of Stafford, Virginia, and Fred Taylor Jones, wife Laura, of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Dorothy McAdoo Acciai, husband Deno, of Washington; five grandchildren, Renee, Kate, Terrence, Will and Billie Jean Jones.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2007, with the Rev. Robert Sandercox officiating. Interment will follow in West Alexander Cemetery.
