Donna LuRita Phillips, 53, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2007, in The Washington Hospital, following a brief illness.
She was born November 14, 1953, in Washington, a daughter of the late Clarence Theo "Dutch" Phillips and Victoria Mary Cava Phillips.
Ms. Phillips graduated from Trinity High School, attended Penn Commercial for two years and also attended California University.
She was assistant manager at Town and Country Market in Wolfdale, where she had worked for 37 years.
Ms. Phillips was a cheerleading advisor for Wolfdale for 15 years and had recently assisted with the Washington High School varsity cheerleading squad.
She was Christian.
Surviving are two sisters, Geraldine (Ernest C.) Dobscha and Linda Lee (David Jr.) Huff, both of Washington; three nieces, Debi , Stacey and Kimberly; two nephews, Barry and Dutch; and several great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007, with Rev. Carl Sprowls officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington PA 15301.
