Theresa Louise (Fedor) McCormick, 69, died at Washington Hospital on Sunday, August 26, 2007 from complications associated with lymphoma.
She was born February 19, 1938, a daughter of Michael and Anna Fedor. Devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt, her family was always most important to her.
She worked as judge of elections for more than 30 years in Canton Township. She always enjoyed catching up with everyone as they came to cast their vote. Theresa graduated in the class of 1956 from Washington High School. She was a life-long active member of the St. Hillary Catholic Church, recently enjoying many trips with the parish travel club. She enjoyed camping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a home maker.
On September 20, 1958 Theresa married Lloyd E. "Sonny" McCormick, who died August 8, 2004.
Surviving are sons Jeffrey L. (Marjorie) McCormick of Washington, Dr. Joseph R. (Shelley) McCormick of the North Hills section of Pittsburgh and Jeannine L. (Jack) May of Greenville. One son, John S. McCormick preceded her in death. Also surviving are her five grandchildren Heather, Patrick, Matthew and Ellen McCormick, and Sarah May. Theresa was the sister of Barbara (Marko) Velmer of Library, Dolores "Dolly" (the late James) Steinstraw of Washington and RoseMarie (Wayne) Kraeer of Avella. She was the sister-in-law of Doris Jean (Robert) Mundell of Bergen, NY. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Friends and family will be received from 1-9 pm on Thursday at the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A mass of Catholic burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 am at St. Hillary Roman Catholic Church on Henderson Avenue, Washington. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
