John Oliverio

John Oliverio, 92, of Washington, died Saturday, December 30, 2006, in the Washington County Health Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Plate County, West Virginia, on May 28, 1914, a son of Carmen and Caterina Belcastro Oliverio and had lived in Canton Township since 1924. Mr. Oliverio worked at several local companies including, Atlas Glass, Tygart Valley Glass, Brockway Glass, Andy Brothers Rubber Company, and Trinity High School. He loved his family and watching his grandchildren grow, enjoyed listening to stereo music, playing solitaire, sports, watching TV and eating pancakes. On October 28, 1935, he married Angelene Perri, who died on May 14, 1999. Surviving are two sons, Carmen (Peggy ) Oliverio, of Washington, Patsy John ( June ) Oliverio, of Kansa City, Kansas; a brother Anthony ( Catherine ) Oliverio of Washington; a sister-in-law Ann VanKirk of Washington; twenty-one grandchildren, Tammie Oliverio ( Tom ) Wallace, Shellie Oliverio ( Bill ) Caster, Wendy Oliverio ( Ken ) Orndoff, John ( Wendy ) Shadeck, Cindy Shadeck ( Herb ) Crouse, Christy Shadeck, Daniel ( Caren ) Shadeck, Darren ( Shelly ) Oliverio, Heather ( Neal ) Oliverio, John Shadeck, Anthony Shadeck, Josh Ardeno, Brian Ardeno, Herb Crouse, Olivia Crouse, James Martin, Angela Baldwin, Nicole Shadeck, Lexie Oliverio, Jake Alvardo, Dylan Shadeck; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Katherine Angeline Oliverio Shadeck and a sister, Mary Oliverio Adams. Friends of John Oliverio, 92, of Washington, who died Saturday, December 30, 2006, will be received on Tuesday, from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2006, at 11:00 AM, Rev. David Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
