Cake decorator at Krency's Bakery enjoyed crocheting.
Anna Phillips Alsko, 83, of Washington, died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007, in Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born November 6, 1923, in Washington, a daughter of Mike and Anka Stajcar Phillips. Mrs. Alsko was a member of St. Hilary church, attended Washington schools, and was a cake decorator at Krency's Bakery for 171/2 years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and bingo.
In October 1940, she married John Alexander Alsko, who died December 20, 1989.
Surviving are a son, John A. and wife Clare Alsko Jr. of Evergreen, Colo.; two daughters, Katherine and husband Joseph D'Agostino of Washington and Christine and husband Robert White of Parkland, Fla.; three sisters, Helen Bury of Washington, Philomena Adams of Washington and Mary Worrell of Richmond, Va.; six grandchildren, Denise and husband Brian Russell Sr., Anthony Sr. and wife Janet Umshares, Beth Ann and husband Shawn Johnston, Michael and wife Gillian Alsko and Jessica Ann White and Joseph D'Agostino Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Robert and Anthony Green, Anthony Jr. and Cassandra Umshares, Hunter and Michaela Johnston and Ella and Wynn Alsko; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Katherine Haurand and Julia Alsko.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil officiating, followed by interment in Washington Cemetery.
