Ethel Bessie Danley, 75, formerly of Washington, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2006, in Greensboro, Pennsylvania, following a lingering illness. She was born November 22, 1931, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Norman Adolph and Ella Margaret Null Hess. Mrs. Danley was a homemaker who enjoyed raising foster children, reading, and collecting elephant figurines. She was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Washington. On November 20, 1948, she married Alvin Emmet Danley, Sr., who died January 9, 1999. Surviving are four sons, Alvin E. (Barbara) Danley, Jr., of Greensboro, David (Joyce) Danley of Claysville, William Danley of Iowa, and Mark Danley of Carmichaels; three daughters, Debra (John) Rugg of Washington, Ruth Toland of Greensboro and Marcie Klinzing of Washington; a step-son, John (Michelle) Rugg of Steubenville, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a sister, Sara Berdine. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2007, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 :00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
