Michael Jay Harris

Michael J. Harris, 45, of Amity, died Saturday, September 8, 2007, following a 9 month illness. He was born on September 23, 1961, in Newport, Rhode Island, a son of Guy and Virginia A. Steele Harris, Jr., of Washington. Mr. Harris was a graduate of Trinity High School and served in the United States Army. He was a construction worker and had worked for various local companies including L.W. Miller Roofing and John Kosek Construction. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and being at the ocean. On September 23, 2001, he married Patricia Ann Garrett, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Timothy Michael Harris and Christopher Alan Harris, both of Washington; two brothers, William B. ( Sue ) McLaughlin and Guy Wm. ( Melinda ) Harris, both of Washington; three sisters, Karen J. ( Jerry ) Kiskadden, with whom he made his home, of Amity, Kellie J. ( Patrick ) Orlosky of Washington, and Kathie ( Jim ) Sims of Tyrone, PA; as well as a grandson, Zachary Michael Harris. Friends of Michael J. Harris, 45, of Amity, who died Saturday, September 8, 2007,will be received on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. The family is requesting donations be made in care of the funeral home or to Albert Gallatin Hospice.
