Nasime Abraham Elias

Nasime A. "Bill" Elias passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007, in the Donnell House, following a brief illness. He was born October 11, 1913, in Washington, a son of Abraham and Anna Moses Elias. Mr. Elias graduated from Washington High School in 1932. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations as a supervisor of general military supplies and equipment during World War II. His awards included the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the World War II Victory Ribbon. Mr. Elias was the former manager of and salesman at Sol Mintz Men's Clothing Store, The Men's Shop and The Hub Clothing Store in Washington. A renowned pitcher for the Industrial Baseball League, he was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching golf and football on television. His wife, Alexandria "Alkie"쳌 Thomas Elias, to whom he was married for 65 years (February 12, 1939), preceded him in death. Also deceased are three sisters, Sarah Higginbotham, Mary Polasky and Lois McBride. Surviving are five children, Sandra Harton of Washington, Sherren Pensiero of Somerset, James Elias of Boise, Idaho, and William and Robert Elias, both of Washington; seven grandchildren, Paul “Butchâ€쳌 Harton of Cartersville, Georgia, Dedra Rantovich of McMurray, Lisa and Tara Pensiero of Arlington, Virginia, Damon Elias of Boise, Idaho, and Alycia Ringer and Holly Elias, both of Washington; eight great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Samantha Harton, Kara and Kendall Rantovich, Kohlton and Kory Elias, and Haven and Jacob Ringer; and two brothers, James Elias of Washington and Michael Elias of Trafford. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2007, with Rev. Floyd Marasco officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
