Roger Plants

Roger Plants, 61, of Washington, died at 3:52 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital following a lingering illness. He was born July 23, 1945, in East Finley, a son of George and Mildred Hancher Plants. Mr. Plants attended Claysville High School. He worked as a packer at Brockway Glass and in the rolling department of J&L Steel for seven years. He was a member of Church of God and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are two sons, Brent Plants and Brian Plants, both of Washington; five brothers, George Plants of Claysville, Grayson Plants and Julian Plants, both of Washington, Rudy Plants of Avella and David Plants of Burgettstown; two sisters, Mildred Moore of Claysville and Patricia Plants of Washington; and three grandchildren, Brian Plants, Jesse Plants and Laurel Plants. Deceased are four brothers, Jerald Plants, Gaylord Plants, Larry Plants and Marvin Plants. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, with the Rev. George Plants officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, West Finley.
