Korean War veteran worked as Annealing Box presser
Leonard "Shorty" Mancuso, 75, of Washington, died Thursday, December 21, 2006, in Washington County Health Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born January 14, 1931, in Washington, a son of John and Bella Luchese Mancuso.
Mr. Mancuso worked as a presser at Annealing Box for many years.
He was Catholic.
Mr. Mancuso was a corporal in the 28th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received the German Occupational Medal, and was honorably discharged July 11, 1952.
Mr. Mancuso was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, Jessop Club and Alpine Club.
He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
Surviving are a son, Leonard Mancuso Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Kelly Hull and Kathie Amos, both of Washington; two brothers, Albert and Frank Mancuso, both of Washington; two sisters, Evelyn Pirazzo and Angie Myers, both of Washington; four grandchildren, Cody and Derek Hull, Ashley Miller and Larry Amos Jr.; a great-grandchild; two aunts, Mary Beal and Carmella Reedy, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Grace Almo.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m., the time of services, Saturday, December 23, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, with Pastor Sue Kidder Petritis officiating. Burial will be in Washington Cemetery at a later date.
