Martha M. Greco, 91, of Washington, died October 7, 2010, in her residence.
She was born October 1, 1919, in Washington, a daughter of Frank and Emma Comito Sim.
Mrs. Greco was a 1939 graduate of Washington High School and worked for 30 years as a cashier at A & P Grocery Store.
She was a very active member of St. Hilary Church and was well known for her thoughtfulness and wonderful cooking and baking.
The greatest thing she left her family and friends was the legacy of who she was, not what she possessed.
In 1941, she married Carmine J. Greco, who died in 1973.
The greatest sorrows of her life were the untimely deaths of her husband and son.
Surviving are a daughter, Jane Greco Spence; three grandsons, Scott A. (Imee) Spence of Hawaii, Skyler J. (Teresa) Greco of Florida and Aaron M. Greco of Washington, D.C.; great-grandson, Gunnar J. Greco; daughter-in-law, Cherrie L. Greco of Oklahoma; a brother, Michael Sim of Washington; two sisters, Ree Nichols and Fran Gisoni, both of Washington.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a son, James; a sister, Mary Aloe; and a brother, George Sim.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2010, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, with Father Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 2215 Hill Church Road, Suite 1-A, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
