Jeffrey Paul Nixon, 43, of Meadow Lands, formerly of Visalia, Calif., died Wednesday, June 28, 2006, in the Greenery, Washington, following a two-and-a-half-year illness.
He was born August 15, 1962, in Washington, a son of Helga R. Kaltner Nixon of Meadow Lands and the late Edward W. Nixon.
Mr. Nixon was a graduate of McGuffey High School and served in the U.S. Navy for eight years, including in Desert Shield.
He was a corrections officer in the state of California for 10 years.
Mr. Nixon was Presbyterian.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tournament fishing and playing golf.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, William E. Nixon of Westland and Kevin C. Nixon of Meadow Lands; a sister, Noreen E. McGowan of Houston; several nieces and nephews; and a great-niece.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM, Monday, July 3, in Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Cecil Township, with the Rev. Clarejean Haury officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Jeff Nixon Air Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 521, Meadow Lands, PA 15347. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
