Longtime Sunday school teacher and homemaker.
Kathryn (Kate) V. Apache, 80, of Washington, died at 4:02 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2006, in Washington Hospital.
She was born November 27, 1925, in Washington, a daughter of Ralph and Clara Douglas Brownlee.
She attended Trinity High School and was a homemaker and member of First Church of the Nazarene.
An active member of the church, she previously had taught Sunday school for 42 years in Hart Avenue Church of the Nazerene.
She enjoyed her grandchildren.
On February 1, 1946, she married John F. Apache Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John R. and wife Diane Apache of Washington and Stephen and wife Kandy Apache of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Gwen and husband Danny Amos of Washington; three grandchildren, Mark and wife Summer, Tim Amos and Jane Apache; and two great-grandchildren, Faith Noell and Gavin Brady Amos.
Deceased are a brother, Calvin Brownlee, and three sisters, Mary Ellen Mankey, Helen Neil and Camille Grimes.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and noon to 1:30 p.m., the hour of service, Thursday, October 5, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Revs. Joseph Schiren and Paul George officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
