Cornielle Adelaide Caldwell, 86, of Claysville, died at 8:55 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006, in The Washington Hospital following a brief illness. She was born February 20, 1920, in West Virginia, a daughter of Henry and Helen Nisperly. Mrs. Caldwell was a homemaker and enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Pirate baseball games and NASCAR racing on television. She was Protestant. On January 8, 1943, she married Jack Caldwell, who died in 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Patsy (James) Sayre of Washington and Betty Williams of Bellevue, Nebraska; one brother, Bernard Nisperly of Wheeling, West Virginia; one sister, Betty Rose of Wheeling, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Donna Touville, Linda Ketter and Jay Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica Ketter and Gage Mercer. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are one grandson, Chris Manning; and two brothers, Walter and Lee Nisperly.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rick Bruckner officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
