Ronald Michael Zink

September 8, 1946 — April 3, 2006

Served in U.S. Army during Vietnam War. Ronald Michael Zink, 59, of Maidsville, W.Va., formerly of Ellsworth, died Monday, April 3, 2006, in Veterans Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was born September 8, 1946, in Washington a son of Walter "Smutz" and Christine T. Fedis Zink. He was a graduate of Bentworth High School. Mr. Zink served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Marksman Rifle M14 and Expert Badge Rifle M14. He worked as a laborer at Findlay-Clay. Mr. Zink was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and enjoyed playing the guitar and playing pool. He was Christian. On August 22, 1994, he married Allison Mae Morrison, who died February 3, 2002. Surviving are a brother, Larry Walter (Janet) Zink of Washington; two sisters, Barbara Ann (James ) Layman, with whom he lived, of Maidsville, W.Va., and Cathy (Dale) Berisford of St. Peters Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held that evening at 8 p.m., with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating.
