Louis Joseph Falvo, 78, of Washington, died unexpectedly, on Sunday, May 28, 2006, in his home. He was born in Washington on December 19, 1927, a son of Pasquale and Elvira Caputo Falvo.
Mr. Falvo was a 1946 graduate of Washington High School. He served in the United States Army from June 1946 to November 1947, having received the World War II Victory medal and the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan.
He was retired from Tri State Manufacturing after more than twenty years; he later worked the front desk at the YMCA in Washington. He was also a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.
On April 17, 1950, he married Norma Jean Mitchell, who died on December 15, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Michael Patrick ( Dianna ) Falvo of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Celeste Jean Pavlik Falvo of Washington; a brother, Anthony Falvo of Parma, Ohio; three sisters, Louise Foil and Rita Bell, both of Washington, and Shirley Miller of Monaca; three grandchildren, Rev. Joshua Falvo, Jason and Michael Falvo; and a great-grandchild, Dominic Falvo;
Preceding him in death are a son, Rev. David Joseph Falvo; two sisters, Lillian “ Lil” Wiecheck and Mafalda McCahill; and a brother Pasquale “ Pat “ Falvo.
Friends of Louis Joseph Falvo, 78, of Washington, who died unexpectedly, on Sunday, May 28, 2006, will be received on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 pm, and Thursday, from 11 am to 1 pm and 7 to 9 pm, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held on Friday from 10 to 11 am, the time of services, in the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Amity, PA , 15311, Rev. Joshua Falvo officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery.
