Beth Elaine McGrady, 59, of Washington, died at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, in Washington Hospital. She had been in declining health for seven years. She was born August 6, 1946, in Mt. Holly Springs, a daughter of Anna Sheaffer of Connecticut and the late Ike Sheaffer. Mrs. McGrady was a 1964 graduate of Carlisle High School and attended Robert Morris College for two years, earning an associate degree as a legal secretary. She was employed by South Strabane Township for eight years, by Centimark in Southpointe and had worked in various administrative positions in the area. Mrs. McGrady was an avid reader. She was a loving mother of two and a wonderful friend who will be greatly missed. Surviving, in addition to her mother, are two sons, Douglas S. McGrady of Germantown, Md., and George T. McGrady Jr. of Gaithersburg, Md., and two sisters, Amy Sheaffer of Hartford, Conn., and Candice Ward of Carlisle. A sister, Laura Sheaffer, is deceased.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. A memorial service also will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 15, in Otterbein Methodist Church, Boiling Springs, with inurnment following in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery, Carlisle. Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Community Church, 1090 Weirich Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
