Mary Frances Schnore, 98, of Eighty Four, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness. She was born December 29, 1907, in Anderson, Ind., a daughter of William and Mary Ann Dunn Wambach. Mrs. Schnore was a graduate of St. Mary High School, Anderson. She was a homemaker who enjoyed writing poetry, collecting stamps, and, when younger, gardening and sewing. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Christian Mothers group and Nottingham Farm Women's Society. For nearly 50 years, she was a judge of elections in North Strabane Township. On June 29, 1936, she married James Augustine Schnore, who died April 1, 1976. Surviving are a son, James Francis (Guyla Tennant) Schnore of Washington; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Sims and Dianna Jean (Tony) Yuvan, both of Eighty Four; 12 grandchildren, Rebecca Illig, Clark Sims, John Yuvan, Matt Yuvan, Amy Chester, Sharlotte Lewis, James P. Schnore, Mary Lou Ammons, Barbara Woolridge, David Schnore, Dana Schnore and Jeffrey Schnore; two stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Damian Charles Schnore, and a grandson, Michael John Schnore.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, with the Rev. William Feeney as celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. James Mausoleum, Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donnell House, 10 Leet St., Washington, PA 15301, or to Hospice Care of Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
