Dorothy Elizabeth Wright, 83, of Newport News, Va., formerly of Arch Street, Washington, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2006, in Riverside Regional Convalescent Center, following a brief illness. She was born December 3, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of William and Ellen Watson Bennett.Mrs. Wright was a graduate of Washington High School and a homemaker. She attended Warwich Memorial United Methodist Church in Newport News. While living in Washington, she was a member of Arms Club and various senior citizens groups. On November 16, 1942, she married John Martin Wright, who died April 15, 1992. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Gary R. (Patricia) Wright of Reading and John W. (Judy) Wright of Lake Orion, Mich.; a daughter, Linda J. (the late Guy) Craft, with whom she made her home; a sister, Alice Davis of Mentor, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Keith McKinney, Belinda McKinney Kahn, Ted, Cynthia and Daniel Wright and Andrew, Kelly, Casey and Emily Wright; and four great-grandchildren, Aiden and Ava Wright and Cameron and Natalie Kahn. Deceased are four brothers and four sisters.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 13, with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
