Worked as a nurse's aide
Theresa Ann Miller Rice, 87, of Springfield, Tenn., formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, in North Central Hospital, Springfield. She resided with her grandson, Nicholas Harrington of Springfield.
She was born June 7, 1918, in Presto, a daughter of Nicholas and Anna Snary Miller.
Mrs. Rice attended Hickory schools and was a member of Church of Christ.
She was employed as a nurse's aide at various nursing homes and hospitals over a 10-year period.
Mrs. Rice enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles and cards.
She was married to Howard Russell Rice, who died October 19, 1981.
Surviving are three sons, Henry A. Harrington of Prosperity, Nicholas E. Harrington of Kingsport, Tenn., and Donald L. Harrington of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Margaret Edith McCartney, who died December 5, 2004; three brothers, John, Ben and Nicholas Miller; and a sister, Jane Ann Hull.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, with Robert J. Davison officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
