William A. Colvin

William A. Colvin, 77, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 6:43 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, in the Washington Hospital. He was born November 24, 1928, in Littleton, West Virginia, a son of William and Georgia Shuman Crouser Colvin. Mr. Colvin graduated from Washington High School. He was a timekeeper for Occidental Petroleum in McKees Rocks for twenty years. Mr. Colvin served in the Army during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He earned the Army of Occupation Medal-Germany, and World War II Victory Medal.. Mr. Colvin was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and a member of its Firing Squad. He also served on the Legion’s executive board and was the Legion’s former historian. On August 31, 1979, he married Lorea Jean Higgins, who survives. Also surviving are one son, John D. Colvin of Washington; a step-son, Bruce G. (Teresa) Crawford of Washington; three step-grandchildren, Bruce Crawford, Jr. of Telford, Kelley Cupp of Wheeling, and Richard Crawford of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Thelma Louise Leonard and Betty Ayre. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 6th at Washington Cemetery’s Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Floyd Marasco officiating. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
