G. Wayne Brautigam

G. “Wayne” Brautigam, Sr., 56, a lifelong resident of Washington, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 5, 2009, in the Washington Hospital. He was born in Washington on September 21, 1953, a son of George Mansele and Dolores Irene Wheeler Brautigam. Mr. Brautigam worked at Walmart. He was Baptist by faith. He always helped underprivileged children and the troops overseas with Christmas gifts. He enjoyed drawing and artwork. On December 28, 1974, he married Debra Ireland, who survives. Also surviving is a son, George Wayne Brautigam, Jr.; 2 daughters, Amy Brautigam and Darla (Timothy) Garber, all of Washington; a brother, Byron (Sandra) Brautigam, of Kittanning, PA; 7 grandchildren, Jimmy and Tyler Nichol, Kevin and Lynn Hines, Desirae Brautigam, Holly Strogish and Maddox Garber. Friends will be received on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at William G. Neal Funeral Homes., Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
