Catherine Ann Brownlee

Catherine Ann Brownlee, 88, of Washington, died on Saturday, April 22, 2006, in the Humbert Lane Health Care Center, following a lengthy illness. She was born in East St. Louis, Missouri, on September 28, 1917, a daughter of George and Rose Pozqai Pavkovich. Mrs. Brownlee had attended Wylie Avenue School and Penn Commercial Business School. She was a member of the Covenant Life Fellowship Church of Washington. For more than thirty years, she worked as an Assistant Manager at Sol Mintz in both Washington and Pittsburgh. Prior to that time, she worked eighteen years at Duncan-Miller Glass here in Washington and Home Furniture Store for eight years. On March 16, 1934, she married James Brownlee who died in 1974. She is survived by a brother Steve Pavkovich of Warren, Ohio; four sisters, , Rose Ross of Seminole, Florida, Barbara ( Robert ) Nicolella of Washington, Nancy Wilson and Sophie ( LeRoy ) Knox, both of Washington. Preceding her in death are four brothers, Nick, Joe, John, and Frank Pavkovich; as well as three sisters, Mary Strawn , Ann Abajace, and Helen Irey. At the request if the deceased, no public visitation will be held and services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue.
