Elda Romaine Graham, 83, of Washington, died at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006, in Washington County Health Center, Washington, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 16, 1922, in Bentleyville, a daughter of Oliver Joseph and Laura Belle Nicholson Holsopple. Mrs. Graham was a 1940 graduate of Bentleyville High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial. She worked with her husband in a Gravely tractor business. She also worked at Richey's grocery store in Lagonda and as a secretary for White Hanes Optical Co. Mrs. Graham was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Prosperity, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a charter member of South Franklin Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. On November 2, 1945, she married Donald Alton Graham, who died January 13, 1975. Surviving are a son, Bruce A. (Beth) Graham of Washington; two daughters, Gaynelle Hughes of Lehigh, Fla., and Louanne (Al) Williams of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren, Alan Hughes, Brian Hughes, Barry Graham, Clay Graham, Milton Bryner Jr. and Scott Graham; four stepgrandchildren, Allan Williams III, Lavon Williams III, Zulenia Williams and Kenneth Williams; and six great-grandchildren. Deceased are five brothers, Raymond, Rufus, Ross, Glenn and Wilbur Holsopple; and two sisters, Ila Gehman and Nellie Gumbert.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 17, with Pastor George Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
