Kira Marie Pierce

2001 Trinity H.S. graduate wrote children's book. Kira Marie Pierce, 22, of Washington, died Saturday, January 21, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born May 28, 1983, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Carl and Pamela Sue Stollar Pierce of Washington. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Trinity High School in 2001 and was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. She was an artist and enjoyed crocheting and ceramics. She was a writer, having authored a children's book, "Cupid and the Missing Wings." Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two daughters, Kalin Marie and Serena Dawn, at home; maternal grandfather James A. Stollar Sr., paternal grandmother Carol Pierce, maternal great-grandmother Ruth Glover and sister Taryn Pierce, all of Washington; seven aunts and uncles, Darla and husband Wes Evans, James A. Stollar Jr. and wife Darylanne, both of Washington, James R. Pierce and wife Joyce of Virginia and Lynn Kalich and husband Dan, Donald Pierce and wife Denise, Cathy Moore and husband Kevin and Janet Denman and husband Randy, all of Washington; 18 cousins, Eric, Jason and Megan Crawford, Erika and Loren Stollar, Tim and Dayna Evans, April, Derrick, Sam and Luke, Nick and Missy Kalich, Justin and Chelsea Pierce, Randy Jr. and Courtney Denman and Christopher Pierce; and her godparents, Nancy VanBriggle and James A. Stollar Jr. Deceased are maternal grandmother Wanda Lee Stollar and paternal grandfather James R. Pierce Sr. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to PNC Bank, 201 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, to establish a trust for her children.
