Mary Duvall, 83, of Canton Township, died Monday, April 17, 2006, in Washington Hospital, after a brave two-month battle with cancer.
She was born January 10, 1923, in West Finley, a daughter of Archie Linville Carroll and Mary Belle Burt.
She worked at Duncan Miller Glass Factory in her early life and later for The Meadows racetrack.
She was Protestant.
She enjoyed going to yard sales and buying and refinishing old furniture. She was a friend to all and was loved by all who knew her.
Her husband of 48 years, Raymond, died October 3, 2005.
Her closest family and primary caregiver was her granddaughter, whom she and her late husband raised as a daughter, Teena Rae (David) Fisher of Washington and two grandchildren, Raymond David Fisher, second-year cadet at US Military Academy, West Point, and Jamie Fisher.
Also surviving from a previous marriage are another daughter who assisted with her care, Arland (James) Shrader of Scenery Hill and two sons, Kenneth (Sandy) Weimer of Prosperity and Lanny Dale (Carolynn) Weimer of Maryland; a stepdaughter, Nancy Pees of Marianna; a brother, Robert Carroll of Sacramento, Calif.; and several grandchildren including, James, Dennis and Raymond Shrader, Kenneth, Daniel and Paige Weimer, Brandon, Travis, Nicholas, Cassie, Joseph, Crystlynn, Ryan and Christopher Shrader, Lori, Natalie, David and Montana Emrock, Pete and Edward Pees and Ren Litman.
Deceased are a brother, John Carroll; six sisters, Thelma Barker, Marguerite Clovis, Ann Howard, Cecilia Bristor, Emily Shrader and Barbara Daughtery; and a son, Terri, who died in infancy.
--Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
