Anna Mae McCrerey, 87, of Washington died at 10 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006, in Washington Hospital.
She was born December 23, 1918, in Bridgeville, a daughter of J.W. and Catherine Beierlein Flinn.
Mrs. McCrerey attended Immaculate Conception Catholic schools, graduating in 1936.
She was a member of St. Hilary Church and a charter member of Immaculate Conception Christian Mothers.
Mrs. McCrerey formerly was employed as a bookkeeper for S.A. Meyer Co. Men's Clothing Co. and Penn Manufacturing Co. During World War II, she was a civil service employee serving as payroll clerk at Quartermaster Regional Office in Alexander, La.
She was an avid collector of antiques.
On March 1, 1943, she married Staff Sgt. William L. McCrerey, with the Rev. Andrew Zapora, pastor of St. Hilary Church, officiating. Mr. McCrerey survives.
Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Patrick William and Peggy Skeen McCrerey of Richmond, Va.; three grandchildren, Anna, now serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland, Africa, and twins Austin and Flinn McCrerey of Richmond; and three sisters, Catherine (Eugene "Bus") Cox, Eileen (William) Richardson and Marcella Gamber, all of Washington.
Deceased are a brother, John Flinn; and three sisters, Margaret Flinn, Rita Eimer and Dolores Kline.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
