Ronald James Jones Sr., 69, of Claysville, died Monday, April 10, 2006, in his home. He had been ill since January 2005. He was born May 28, 1936, in Washington, a son of Glenn William and Mary L. Ward Jones. Mr. Jones was an operator/engineer for Teamsters Local 66 for 40 years. He was Presbyterian and an avid golfer who enjoyed bingo. On April 14, 1956, he married Carol Ann Bell, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Ronald James Jones Jr. of Sylvia, N.C., Frank R. (Annette) Jones Sr. of Claysville, John J. (Linda Sue) Jones of West Finley and Gerald L. (Janice M.) Jones of East Finley; two daughters, Glenda Ann Jones of Claysville and Brenda Lee Jones of Prosperity; three sisters, Ruth Fonner, Helen Stanley and Nancy Bedillion, all of Washington; and 16 grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers, Dennis and Glenn Jones.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, with Pastor Jim Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 357 East Maiden Street, Washington, PA 15301, or American Heart Association, 7829 National Pike Road, Suite 2, Uniontown, PA 15401.
