Washington homemaker known for baking talents. Judith Marie Lucas, 61, of Washington, died Monday, March 27, 2006, in UPMC-Montefiore hospital, Pittsburgh. She had been in declining health for a year. She was born June 22, 1944, in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Ward Leroy and Emily Bishop Connor Goodemote. Mrs. Lucas graduated from Canon-McMillan High School in 1962. She was Presbyterian. Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker who took great pride in her baking abilities, making fancy cookies and candies for all to enjoy. She baked and decorated many wedding cakes for couples in New York and the Washington area. She enjoyed passing the time with many different arts and crafts. Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Amber) Lucas of Washington; three daughters, Colleen (Donald) Tupi of Amity, Jody (John) Raysich of Claysville and Patti Whitmer of Washington; a stepson, Charles Lucas of Danville, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Lori Lucas of Tennessee; and eight cherished grandchildren, Jason Irwin, Leighanna Irwin, Nataleigh Tupi, Lauren Raysich, Jenna Raysich, Jessica Whitmer, Emily Whitmer and Leah Lucas. Deceased are two sisters, Sandra Dodson and Glenda Hoffman; a brother, Gail Goodemote; and a half brother, Donald Nason. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31. Burial will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
