Grover ("Lee," "Turtle") Willhoft, 33, of Avella, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, as a result of injuries received in a house fire.
Mr. Willhoft was born April 17, 1974, in Washington, a son of Mary Durila Willhoft of Claysville and the late Joseph R. Willhoft, Sr.
He attended Avella Schools and for the past fifteen years had worked for Galati Landscape. He and his wife enjoyed gardening, camping and outdoor activities.
His wife, Jodi Lynn Poland, also died as a result of injuries received in the fire.
The couple's children survive. They are Leeann Renea Willhoft, Grover Lee Willhoft and Jamie Lynn Willhoft, all at home.
Mr. Willhoft is also survived by five brothers, Joseph R. (Joanne) Willhoft, Jr. of Washington, George (Lois) Willhoft of Taylorstown, Michael Willhoft of Avella, Matthew (Tonya) Willhoft of Claysville, and Richard (Ida) Willhoft of Avella; four sisters, Linda (Gerald) Orum of Claysville, Barbara (William) Sweeney of Jefferson, Fay (Bub) Post of Avella and Cheryl (Frank) Willhoft of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, William John Willhoft.
Friends of Grover "Lee" Willhoft will be received 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, June 13, 2007, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. John Mark Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery.
