Robert Leroy Comer, 73, of Washington, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in Washington Hospital, following a five-month illness.
He was born June 10, 1933, in Washington, a son of Walter Roy and Elsie Leona Howell Comer.
Mr. Comer attended Washington schools. He was employed in heavy construction for Local 1058 in Pittsburgh for more than 30 years.
Mr. Comer was an avid collector of Matchbox cars.
He was Protestant.
Surviving are a son, Robert C. Comer of Lancaster, Calif.; two brothers, Walter W. Comer and Charles A. Comer, both of Washington; five sisters, Patricia A. Miller and Dorothy D. Comer, both of Washington, Lois D'Emilio of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Joanna Davis of Washington and Deloris Sharrow of Marysville, Mich.; a grandson, Jeremy Comer; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
His longtime companion was Mary Lue Holmes of Canonsburg, and his young buddy was Dillon Pareso.
Deceased are three brothers, Carl L. Comer, Adam E. Comer and Pete Angott.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 29, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
