Barbara Pochiba Hoffman Ventresca, 86, of Claysville, formerly of Washington, died at 8:18 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, in Donnell House, Washington. She was born October 17, 1919, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Steve and Mary Halvonik Pochiba. Mrs. Ventresca worked as an assembler at RCA and was a beautician for many years with a beauty shop in her home. She was Catholic. On July 20, 1963, she married Alfred Ventresca, who died November 6, 1996. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara (Howard) Isenberg of Washington; a brother, George (Karen) Pochiba of Scenery Hill; two sisters, Helen Podish of Eighty Four and Mary Furda of Washington; five grandchildren, Dianne Jackson, Valerie Baker, Howard Isenberg, Pamela Pavlisko and Lori Camp; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Deceased are a daughter, Flora Kotarsky; two brothers, Joseph and Steve Pochiba; a sister, Anna Briggs; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
