Lloyd W. Ranegar, 73, of Washington, died at 12:05 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2006, in Washington Hospital. He was born May 16, 1933, in Avella, a son of Charles and Louise Marbella Ranegar. Mr. Ranegar was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan. He received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Ranegar worked on the picket line, and was a laborer and truck driver at Washington Steel, retiring in 1995, after thirty-eight years of service. He enjoyed riding a Harley motorcycle, camping, and NASCAR racing. On December 29, 1981, he married Margaret Louise Iskey Burkett, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Douglas Ranegar and Daryl Ranegar, both of Washington; two step sons, Clyde Burkett, of Washington, and Brady (Carol) Burkett, of Hagerstown, Md.; a daughter, Darlene (Darrell) Wise, of Washington; two stepdaughters, Cathy (John, Jr.) Tarr, of Washington, and Susan (Dunkie) Craig, of Burgettstown; brother, Charles (Alice) Ranegar, of Washington; sister, Nancy Gratz, of Washington; nephew, Chuck (Trudy) Gratz, of Washington; and fourteen grandchildren.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2006, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Washington Cemetery.
