Stanley Adam Reichert, 82, of Washington, died at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness.
He was born January 2, 1924, in Washington, a son of Peter and Regina Mosier Reichert.
Mr. Reichert was a graduate of the January 1943 class of Washington High School and was a Penn Commercial College graduate.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviation ordnance man 3rd class. He received the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon.
He had been employed by McGraw-Edison as a foreman in the coil dept.
Mr. Reichert was a member of St. Hilary Church, Pulaski Club, Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22, Washington. He was an avid bowler at the Alpine Club and a member of American Bowling Congress. He also enjoyed polka dancing and golfing, and he played baseball for the Canonsburg Transformers.
On August 16, 1952, he married Caroline Doloris Stasiowski, who died July 22, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Morris and Susan Lynn Hartzell, both of Washington; two sisters, Genevieve McGlone of Apollo and Florence Gorby of Whitewater, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Keith Morris, Christine Morris and Eric Kinder Jr.
Deceased, in addition to his wife, are two brothers, Frank and Leo Reichert.
Friends will be received by the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 7, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Henderson Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Thomas D. O'Neil as celebrant. Interment will be in Washington Cemetery with military rites conducted graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
