Rose Mathilda Martin

Rose M. Martin, 93, of Eighty-Four, died Thursday, August 10, 2006, in her residence. She was born December 15, 1912, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Anthony and Mathilda Bensch Bertel. Mrs. Martin worked in sales for Joseph Horn Company in Whitehall for 25 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. On August 8, 1934, she married Herbert C. Martin, who died November 8, 2005. Surviving are a son, Harry (Kay) Martin of Eighty-Four; a daughter, Rosemarie (Richard) Bottles of Library; five grandchildren, Clarice, Claudine and Wade Martin, Rosalind Rider and Maureen Patterson; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister. Deceased are ten brothers and sisters. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, August 14, 2006, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with Father Nicholas Spirko as celebrant. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to Albert Gallatin Hospice, 275 Meadowlands Boulevard, Washington, PA 15301.
