Rose Mathilda Martin

Rose M. Martin, 93, of Eighty-Four, died Thursday, August 10, 2006, in her residence. She was born December 15, 1912, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Anthony and Mathilda Bensch Bertel. Mrs. Martin worked in sales for Joseph Horn Company in Whitehall for 25 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. On August 8, 1934, she married Herbert C. Martin, who died November 8, 2005. Surviving are a son, Harry (Kay) Martin of Eighty-Four; a daughter, Rosemarie (Richard) Bottles of Library; five grandchildren, Clarice, Claudine and Wade Martin, Rosalind Rider and Maureen Patterson; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister. Deceased are ten brothers and sisters. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, August 14, 2006, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with Father Nicholas Spirko as celebrant.
