Charles Lewis Moore, 90, of Washington, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, in Washington Hospital, following a three-year illness. He was born August 3, 1915, in Washington, a son of Charles and Emma Galaher Moore. Mr. Moore was a graduate of Washington High School and was Presbyterian. He was employed as a schedule maker at Jessop Steel for more than 20 years and by Samples Taxi. He was a member of Elks and Arms Club. On December 18, 1935, he married Claire Louise Figas, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Arlene Connelly of Lawrence; eight grandchildren, Diane, Donald, Charles, Michael, David, Scott, Sandra and Deborah Connelly; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; three nieces; and a nephew. Deceased are a brother, William G. Moore, and a sister, Eleanor Stewart.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 395 East Maiden Street, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 9, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray.
