Annie Helen Alrutz

July 16, 1905 — March 25, 2006

Annie H. Alrutz, age 100, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, in the Washington County Health Center after having been ill less than 1 week. She was born on the Seabright Family Farm in Mt. Pleasant Township, on July 16, 1905, a daughter of Charles F. and Cora V. Walker Seabright. Mrs. Alrutz was a homemaker all of her married life and was not affraid of hard work. She enjoyed her two grandchildren most of all. Additionally, she enjoyed going to her church, baking, canning, and doing yard work with her husband. On September 27, 1922, she was married to Louis C. Alrutz in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Hickory, by Pastor Forest Eberle. Prior to her husbands death in May, 1968, they had celebrated 46 years of marriage. Surviving are a son, Ralph E. Alrutz of Washington; a grandson, Kenneth E. Alrutz of Middleton, Connecticut; a much loved and devoted granddaughter, Patricia A. Platts of Scenery Hill; five great-grandchildren, Megan, Rikki, and Graham Alrutz, and Mark, Ray Platts. Deceased is a sister, Cecil Brinkman. Friends of Annie H. Alrutz, age 100, who died Saturday, March 25, 2006, in the Washington County Health Center, will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 9 PM, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at 2:00 PM, Rev. Kenneth N. Schott, DD, officiating. Internment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory. The family is requesting donations to: Special Olympics or Megan Canterna Memorial Scholarship Fund.
