Ralph A. Allison
Ralph A. Allison, 86, of Washington, died Friday, November 10, 2006, in Canonsburg Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born August 18, 1920, in Greensburg, a son of Arthur L. and Helen L. Duncan Allison.
Mr. Allison graduated from Trinity High School in 1939 and attended Washington and Jefferson College.
During World War II, he served in the Army, 48th Bombardment Squadron, 41st Bombardment Group from December 14, 1941 until November 19, 1945. He was awarded the American Defense Service Medal, American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal with four bronze starts, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Allison worked at Jessop Steel Corporation for more than forty years.
He was a member of West Washington United Methodist Church.
On November 29, 1949, he married Virginia Frye, who died April 21, 1982.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Lee (Dennis) Clutter of Washington; a grandson, Michael Clutter; a great-grandson, Austin Clutter; and several cousins.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the hour of service, Sunday, November 12, 2006, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. John Hoffman officiating.
