Mary Catherine Hunt, 94, of Washington, died Sunday, November 12, 2006, in Kade Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 7, 1912, in Canton Township, a daughter of Frank and Eva Stewart Ohs.
Mrs. Hunt worked at Tygart Valley Glass for several years and in the housekeeping department of the Washington Hospital for 20 years. She was once active with Boy Scouts.
Mrs. Hunt was a member of Fairhill Manor Christian Church and enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
On November 18, 1968, she married Vernon Eugene Hunt, who survives.
Also surviving are an adopted son, James Edward (Laura) Ashmore of Avella; two step-sons, David M. Hunt and Vernon E. Hunt, Jr., both of Evansville, Indiana; two step-daughters, Brenda Padgett of Evansville and Karen Staley of Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren, J. Brian Ashmore, Jason E. Ashmore and Melissa L. Huff; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are her first husband, Edward Q. Ashmore, who died in 1962; and a brother, James Ohs.
Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006, with Rev. David Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family (Mr. Vernon E. Hunt) in care of the funeral home.
