Clyde Edward Horne

Clyde Edward Horne, 78, of Washington, died Monday, July 3, 2006, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He had been ill since June 30. He was born January 6, 1928, in Washington, a son of Willard C. Horne and M. Iva Rafferty Horne McMillen. Mr. Horne attended Immaculate Conception School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, receiving the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal. Mr. Horne retired from Universal Cyclops, Bridgeville, where he worked for 36 years. He was a member of Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 and once was an avid dartball league member. On August 27, 1947, he married Marjorie Joyce Fox, who died January 5, 2006. Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie I. Horne (William L.) Willis; two grandsons, Christopher Lemley and Matthew Horne; a granddaughter, Kelly Horne Yuhas; two brothers, Joseph J. Horne and James N. Horne, both of Washington; two sisters, Laura (Lewis) Wade of Frederick, Md., and Blanche Horne Boardley of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Edward C. Horne; a brother, Francis W. Horne; three sisters, Dorothy V. Horne, Mary Virginia McCartney and Cecilia P. Hull. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held Friday, July 7, at 2:oo PM. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery, with military rites accorded by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
