Helen Mae Amos

Helen May Amos, 78, of Washington, died at 8:05 a.m. Sunday, July 2, 2006, in Donnell House, Washington. She had been ill since 1989. She was born January 11, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of Walter and Mildred Dailey Whiteman. Ms. Amos was a homemaker and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Surviving are a son, James Amos of Washington; four daughters, Mildred Amos and Sandra Amos, both of Washington, Linda Merritt of Raleigh, NC, and Donna Dropco of Arcadia, FL; a brother, William Whiteman of Washington; three sisters, Mary Girosek, Dolores Stetson and Margaret White, all of Erie; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Deceased are one sister and four brothers. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation or services. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington, is handling arrangements.
