Mary L. Markley

60-year member of Fourth Presbyterian Church Mary L. Markley of Washington, died at 10:07 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2006, in Strabane Woods, following a three-year illness. She was born in Washington, a daughter of Fred and Emma Hillberry Kuhn. Mrs. Markley graduated from Trinity High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed ceramics and crocheting. Mrs. Markley was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Washington for 60 years. She was the last of her immediate family. On November 23, 1946, she married Robert Wayne Markley, who died August 12, 1998. Surviving are a son, Michael (Rebecca) Markley of Washington; two daughters, Judith (Ed) Breedlove and Gale (Donald) Keener, both of Washington; seven grandchildren, Robert Breedlove, Marna Day, Onilee Markley, Jonathan Markley, Ashlee Markley, Donald Keener, Jr. and Timothy Keener; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Christy Jill Markley; a brother, Fred Kuhn, Jr.; a sister, Pearl Durbin; and a grandson, Michael Markley, Jr. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 am Monday, October 2, 2006, with Rev. Dr. Susan VandeKappelle officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
