U.S. Treasury retiree was avid billiards player.
William H. Elliott, 57, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Washington, died Saturday, August 26, 2006, after a brief illness.
He was born February 27, 1949, a son of the late Harold B. and Wilma C. Elliott.
Mr. Elliott retired from his position as special assistant to the director of the U.S. Treasury.
He was a semi-pro billiards player, as well as a champion bridge player.
Surviving are two children, William Elliott Jr. and Sherrie (James) Sullivan; two grandchildren, Jordan and Justin Klein; two stepgrandchildren, Kassie and Gage Sullivan, all of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Dianne Elliott Durbin of Washington; a nephew, Mark H.(Karen) Durbin; and a great-niece, Tamela Durbin, all of Burgettstown.
Friends will be received 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of services, Friday, September 1, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Christina Hosler officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens Cemetery, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society or Red Cross. A celebration of his life will be held at Champion Billiards, 2620 Shirlington Road, Arlington, VA 22206, on Saturday, September 2, at 7 p.m.
