James Henry Prall

James H. Prall U.S. Army Veteran Beloved husband, father and grand-pap. James Henry Prall, 80, of Washington, PA, went to be with his daughter, on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. He was born on October 7, 1929, in Monongahela, PA, a son of James M. and Louise Diebold Prall. He was a 1948 graduate of Trinity High School. Mr. Prall served in the 101st Airborne division of the U.S. Army, as a Corporal, during the Korean War. While in the army, he marched in many parades, and was one of the few to not receive a G.I. haircut. Following the army, he was employed at Jessop Steel for 30 years. He was a 56-year member of Edwin Scott Linton, Post 175 of the American Legion. He was also member of the S.S.V.F.D., No. 1. And the South Strabane Volunteer Fire Department. On December 25, 1951, he married Margaret Louise Hennick, who survives. James and his adored Margie lived for 59 years together on Margaret’s family farm. He spent his time there farming, hunting and raising four children. He was a hard worker, and always had a smile on his face. Over the years, he overcame a stroke, a heart attack, and a few broken bones, but he always continued to live life to the fullest. His famous words were, “Right Now” and “Fight Fight Fight.” Also surviving are his children, Lisa Ashmore (Sam Levato) and Terry (Cindy Lou) Prall, both of Washington, and James Prall of Sandy, Utah; a sister, Marie Isiminger, of Washington; 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Malcolm, and Faith Prall, all of Utah; Megan Prall, Katy McNeely and Stephanie Ashmore, all of Washington, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are 3 sisters, Mona Polacek, Dolores Wilson and Grace Barr, and a beloved daughter, Cynthia Louise McNeely, who died in April, 1992. He will be deeply missed by his beloved Margie, family and close friends. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, 14, 2010, with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, PA. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
