Elaine Loretta Alderson, 55, of Houston, died Saturday, September 30, 2017, in Canonsburg Hospital, with her husband by her side, following a six-year illness.
She was born March 16, 1962, in Washington, a daughter of Walter J. Shankovich of Washington and the late Loretta Wiszczor Shankovich.
Mrs. Alderson graduated from Trinity High School in in 1980. She worked in the office of oral surgeon, Dr. Foster Thomas.
Mrs. Alderson enjoyed camping and fishing and loved watching her children play sports.
On September 6, 1996, she married Thomas John “Tucker” Alderson, III, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Seth Michael Alderson of Houston; a daughter, Kayla Elaine Alderson of Houston; two stepchildren, Thomas J. (Amanda) Alderson, IV, of Springfield, Missouri and Nicole R. (Justin) Smithberger of Cadiz, Ohio; a brother, Walter J. Shankovich, Jr., of Washington; a sister, Julie (Chuck) Liberatore of Washington; four grandchildren, Asher Alderson, Tyler Alderson, Elliana Smithberger and Aiden Smithberger; a niece, Ashley Pryor; and a nephew, Johnathan Shankovich.
A memorial gathering will be held from 4 till 8 p.m., Thursday, October 5th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home or at FuneralBill.com.
