Robert Byers

Robert Edward Byers 75, of Washington passed away in his home September 28, 2017.He was born May 22, 1942 in Pleasant Grove, PA son of the late John C. Byers and Olive L. Jones Byers.Robert was a graduate of Claysville High School.Robert worked at Moly Corp for 21 years, then went to work at Motel 6 in Washington in the maintenance department from which he retired from.He played dartball for East Buffalo Church, was a member of Claysville Rodders car club, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing and cars especially his 1939 Ford coupe which he refurbished with his son.On December 16, 1967 he married Vickie L. Walters who survives. Also surviving are a son Shawn (Pam Postapeck) Byers of Economy,; Three daughters, Tresa L. Harps of Avella, Joyce Ann (Gerald) Plymire of Washington, and Janet Lee (David) Dight of Wellsburg, WV; sister, Norma Jean (Harold) Wright of Avella; grandchildren, Dylan Boyd, Alisha (Josh David) Harps, Angela (Kris) Rhode, Alanea(Chris Woods) Harps, Destiny Dight, Cody Dight, Dany Smith; great-grandchildren, Eli-Jan Harps, Bre-Anna Harps, Tren-Tin Clymier, Vincent Rhode, Avery Woods,Evelynn Woods, Vivian Harps; sisters-in -law Violet Byers of Claysville, Elsie Byers and Eva Mae Byers both of Avella; several nieces and nephews; special friend Emile Dubois. Two dogs Suzie and Lizzi. Deceased are brothers Donald E. Byers, John C. Byers Jr., Raymond Byers and his favorite dog Missy.Friends will be received on Sunday October 1, from 1 to 3 & 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G.
