Theresa D. Funka, 86, passed away on September 21, 2017, in Princeton, NJ, due to complications from a recent fall.
She was born on March 6, 1931, in Washington, a daughter of the late Samuel and Frances Desmond.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1949, and worked at Brockway Glass, in Washington, for many years. .
Theresa was a lifelong member of The Christian Church of North America (CCNA), of which her parents were founding members.
She also was an enthusiastic motorcycle rider, and an active member in the Christian Bikers Association and Retreads, an organization for bikers over 50.
Following her husband’s passing, she moved to NJ, to live with her daughter, Cynthia (Gareth) Funka-Lea, of Cranbury, NJ.
On November 17, 1952, she married David G. Funka, who died on March 18, 2012
Surviving, in addition to her daughter, are four grandchildren, Morgan, Madeline, Evan, and Imogen Lea; a sister, Esther Saska of San Diego, CA; a brother, Sam Desmond, of Washington, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two sisters, Marian Gay, and Rose Jones and four brothers, Lou, Joe, Paul and Jim Desmond.
At the request of the deceased, all arrangements are private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington.
