Donald “Don” L. Calvert Sr., 82 of Waynesburg, died unexpectedly September 13, 2017 at Southwest Regional Hospital.
He was born October 29, 1934 in East Finley, the son of the late Edgar Calvert and Della Mae Ashbrook Calvert.
Don attended Claysville High School and retired from Brockway Glass in 1984. After retirement, he worked for GG & C Bus Company as a bus driver for many years.
He loved hunting, and enjoyed mowing the grass. He had an antique truck that he enjoyed taking to shows and parades.
On November 28, 1953, he married Marjorie E. “Mickie” King who survives. They were married for 63 years.
Also surviving are three sons, Donald L. (the late Denise) Calvert Jr., of Washington, Ed Calvert of Nashville, TN and Tom Calvert of Washington; two brothers, Dale Calvert of Washington and John (Lori) Calvert of Washington; five grandchildren, Wendy Calvert, Jacqueline Calvert, Miles (Kristy) Calvert, Nathan (Val) Calvert and Miranda (Devin) Cameron; four great grandchildren, Jordan, Savanna, Blain and Kinlee; a sister in law, Edna Calvert of Claysville; a nephew and two nieces.
Deceased in addition to his parents are a brother, Bill Calvert and a granddaughter, Megan E. Calvert.
Friends will be received Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at noon with Pastor Meade Lacock officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
