John "Pluto" Colon

  John R. “Pluto” Colon, 93, of Washington, died peacefully, Saturday, September 9, 2017, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care. He was born May 31, 1924, in Grafton, West Virginia, a son of John B. Colon and Julia Morasco Colon. Mr. Colon owned and operated Pluto’s Auto Sales in Tylerdale for many years.  Additionally, he worked for William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., as a funeral assistant for nearly 20 years. Pluto was a member of Immaculate Conception Church prior to becoming a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church.  He was also a member of Elks Lodge 776, Buffalo Grange, Northern Panhandle Antique Car Club and the Antique Automobile Club of America – Covered Bridge Region.  He enjoyed attending area theater productions and dances as well as playing the lottery.  On October 5, 1955, he married Audrey M. Sustrick, who died March 19, 2004. Surviving are two sisters, Gloria Hinzman of Tucson, Arizona and Nedyne Cline of Folsom, California, as well as many friends in the Washington area. Deceased, in addition to his wife, are a brother, Robert Colon, and a sister, Teresa Huffman. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 14th, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
